Privacy Policy

How this website handles information from visitors.

Effective date:

Who we are

This policy covers brodsky.law, the website of Brodsky Law, the practice of Sasha Brodsky, Attorney at Law, 1362 Pacific Avenue, Suite 219, Santa Cruz, CA 95060.

The website has no contact forms, user accounts, comments, or newsletter sign-up. You reach the office by phone or email.

What we collect

We do not ask visitors for personal information through the website. Two kinds of information are collected when you visit:

  • Analytics data. Google Analytics and an Ahrefs analytics script measure visits. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this.
  • Request data. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes each request to deliver and protect the pages. That includes your IP address and browser information (user agent).

Information you send us by phone or email is covered in its own section below.

Why we collect it

  • To see which pages visitors use, so we can improve the site.
  • To deliver the site and keep it secure.
  • To respond to people who contact us.

Who processes the information

  • Google, for Google Analytics
  • Ahrefs, for its web analytics script
  • Cloudflare, for hosting, delivery, and security

Each provider handles information under its own privacy terms, which are published on its website. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies and how to limit them

Google Analytics sets cookies to measure visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which stops Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits.

Limiting cookies should not stop you from reading the site.

Your California privacy rights

California privacy law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act, gives many consumers the rights below, and we honor them for anyone who asks. In plain terms, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you and where it came from.
  • Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Correct personal information that is inaccurate.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share it, so there is nothing to opt out of today.

Information from a client matter is governed by the engagement agreement and by our professional duties, and some of it must be kept as the law requires.

We will not treat you differently for using these rights. To make a request, email sasha@brodsky.law or call (424) 262-1516. We may need to confirm your identity before we act.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. This website does not change its behavior in response to that signal.

Some browsers and extensions send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which asks a site not to sell or share personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, whether or not your browser sends that signal. To stop analytics cookies, use your browser's cookie settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on described above.

Children

The website provides general information for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Information you send us

If you call or email, we receive what you choose to share, such as your name, contact details, and a description of your matter. We use it to respond to you and to run a conflict check.

Please do not send confidential details before we have an engagement. Sending a message does not create an attorney-client relationship, and information sent before then may not be protected by attorney-client privilege. Email and phone calls are not a secure way to share sensitive documents or personal details. Share only names and a short summary until we have run a conflict check and confirmed in writing that we can act.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
